SHAOLIN KUNGFU FOR WOMEN

Health, Internal Force, Self Defence and Personal Development

August 2015 intake

 


The Shaolin Wahnam Kung Fu classes for Women emphasizes on Health, Agility and the application of Shaolin Wahnam combat sequences for sparring and self-defence using Shaolin Wahnam Kung Fu forms.

Shaolin Kungfu is a comprehensive programme for physical, emotional, mental and spiritual cultivations, and its benefits enrich our and other people's lives.


When:  AUGUST - OCTOBER 2015 (ongoing class)

Course duration A three months program  , once a week , 2 (two) hours per session, every Sunday at 3-5pm.

* Note that there are 6 levels in our fundamental Shaolin Wahnam Kungfu Syllabus.

Course fee: RM3,000.00 nett non refundable fee, payable upon acceptance to the course.

Who can attend:  For LADIES only. This course is suitable for BEGINNERS. 

 

Aims and Objectives

  1. To have a basic understanding of the meaning and scope of Shaolin Kungfu.
  2. To acquire within a comparatively short time the best available kungfu skills and techniques which students can competently practise on their own for health, vitality, combat efficiency, mental freshness and spiritual fulfilment.
  3. To have a basic understanding of the philosophy of Shaolin Kungfu.
  4. To be familiar with fundamental Shaolin kungfu form.
  5. To be introduced to Shaolin force training.
  6. To learn and practice Shaolin kungfu application.

Course Content

  1. (a) the meaning and scope of Shaolin Kungfu
    (b) some fundamental kungfu principles
    (c) moral and spiritual dimensions of Shaolin kungfu, irrespective of race, culture and religion.
  2. (a) basic Shaolin stances
    (b) some fundamental Shaolin patterns
    (c) linking patterns to constitute a set
    (d) breathing co-ordination
    (e) fluidity of movements
  3. (a) relevant Shaolin Chi Kung
    (b) One-Finger Zen
    (c) some basic Shaolin force training methods
    (d) Standing Meditation.
  4. (a) some Shaolin patterns for combat
    (b) the four categories of attacks
    (c) important principles of defence;
    (d) specific techniques against common attacks

Expected Results

  1. Have a sound knowledge of the theoretic aspects of Shaolin kungfu.
  2. Understand the important aspects of basic Shaolin kungfu patterns.
  3. Be able to compose a Shaolin kungfu set with understanding of underlying principles.
  4. Appreciate the significance and methods of force training.
  5. Experience fitness, health and vitality.
  6. Know some effective defence techniques against all the four categories of attacks, and with practice, feel confident of being able to handle any combat situation.
  7. Be inspired that the beauty of Shaolin Kungfu is not just a fighting art.
  8. Usually be amazed at what can be accomplished in a few weeks of intensive training if the students are clear about their objectives, have the right methods and are ready to work hard.

The main objective of this stage is to develop fundamental combat skills:- right timing, right spacing, flowing movement and force, right judgement, fast decision, instantaneous change, footwork adjustment, safe coverage, flowing attack and pressing attack.
