Health in terms of Harmonious
Energy Flow
|
Chi kung is the art of energy management. At the
bottom line, having excess weight is an energy problem; it is a case of
locked energy converted into excessive mass, and is a manifestation of
yin-yang disharmony. Practising chi kung will enable you to
achieve both an optimum body weight and an optimum body shape. The forte
of chi kung is to restore yin-yang harmony. Once your yin-yang harmony
is restored, your body systems will convert the excess mass into useful
energy, giving you your ideal weight.
Hence, from the chi kung perspective, doing excessive
physical exercise to burn off calories is not only wasteful, it is also
detrimental to health. It is wasteful because instead of using the
energy to produce useful work, it is burnt off unnecessarily. It is
detrimental to health because vital organs like the heart, lungs and
kidneys, which are already weak in an overweight person, are overworked
in the unnecessary burning. ~ Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit

Our school is noted for being SIMPLE, DIRECT AND
EFFECTIVE. You need not wait for a few years to see results. If you just
follow simple instructions directly - you will feel the effects of the
exercise immediately during your practice, and see remarkable result in
a few months. You need to practice just one exercise for about 15
MINUTES per session, two sessions per day. This is something that many
people find it hard to accept or even believe, but it is true. I would like to share how
practising Chi Kung has helped me to overcome chronic anxiety, regain health
and emotional strength, have greater courage to face and flow with
challenges, to have a sense of joy and free spirit and deeper
awareness, to be grateful and to share my blessings to others.

Doreen, 61 years
Chi Kung has helped in many aspects of my
life especially improvement in my daily functioning and
interpersonal relationship. Regular practice of chi kung has
increased my energy level to an extent that after demanding
hours at work professionally, I can enjoy many activities
including long distance Cycling, competitive level Badminton and
my regular 20laps Swim. I am now enjoying the Kota Kinabalu
Shaolin Kung Fu classes!
Note: Doreen is a retired senior Medical Social Worker
and is still actively contributing in relevant NGO programs.

Dr Loga Iyer Budhia
The art of Qigong consists
primarily of the use of intention, meditation, relaxation,
physical movement or posture, mind-body integration, and
breathing exercises. Practitioners of Qigong develop an
awareness of qi sensations (energy) in their body and use their
mind to guide the Qi for improving their health. It gives people
a practical way to take more responsibility for their own health
care, especially for disease prevention and wellness. Qigong is
not just a physical exercise system or a healing technique; it
is a way of being.
I have recently become aware of Qigong and feel that this
practice is just what I need now. I learnt about the different
styles and what was best for me. I am seeking mind, body, spirit
connection as well as physical healing, deep inner peace,
finding Qi and using it, increased strength and abilities, and
deep, deep relaxation. So don't give up when you start Qi gong
and don't see the results immediately and you feel no immediate
changes. Have patience and practice practice and practice till
you perfect ,as my dear friend and Sifu Bernie always reminds.
Special Thanks to Kissey family for helping me in one way or
other and special thanks to Doreen.
God bless Merry Christmas and happy new year. |

Cornelia, 59 years
I have practised Chi Kung for several
years now and continue to do so as it had brought
improvements and positive and bright changes to my life and
generally to my family too. My initial exposure to Chi Kung
coincided with that stage of my life when I was a busy
parent or mother raising up and caring etc. for three young
daughters. This of course entails a lot of energy and
maintaining one's good health is important to be able to
cope and manage well. Health wise I didn't have any illness
problem safe for catching the cold now and then but I was
concerned about keeping healthy and building up stamina or
energy, vitality, reducing stress and be happier or in short
get more out of life. So I took up Chi Kung and made time to
practice regularly and gotten better through the years and
thus in short it has helped to improve my overall health and
I feel more energetic and cheery. Now my
daughters are all grown up and leading their own independent
life, and I can say my cheery and positive attitude helps
towards improved communication or relationships with them.
My increased energy
level and also stronger mental attitude has enabled me to
enjoy outdoor activities like long walks or hiking in
highland areas and mountain climbing and some cycling and
through this appreciate nature and feel joy and gratitude.
The special chi kung exercises help in toning up the body
and maintaining a healthy figure or optimum body shape, help me maintain a healthy backbone and also helps
me stay more focussed. Also I feel inspired to do things
more creatively for examples in gardening activity, art and
craft work, writing and so on. In conclusion I would also be
happy to recommend others who wish or hope to bring changes
for the better for their health and a happier life to give
themselves a chance to realise this.

Mathilda, 54 years
I become a Chi
Kung practitioner after the birth of my fourth child in 2000.
Practicing the Art of building Internal Energy had greatly
enhanced my quality of life especially being a busy mother of
four active kids and a full time Homemaker. The Art has helped
me to cope even better in many aspects of my life. I hardly ever
visit the Doctor except for normal general health routine. I'm a
lot calmer and can focus well. My sleep has greatly improved and
during wakeful moments I can hear lovely sounds of music, feels
cheerful, feels appreciative, grateful and is able to enjoy the
day even when the day's gloomy! I would highly recommend this
Art to everyone.
Note: Mathilda is now grandmother to a beautiful
baby girl, Helena |

Dr Maria, 50 years
I am blessed with a beautiful family and a career I enjoy. I was
introduced to Chi Kung several years ago at the right time when
I was seeking for a deeper meaning in my life. I took the
big step into a bigger dream and I have never looked back. I can
only confirm that the Shaolin Chi Kung that I am practising has
worked tremendously for me and benefited my whole family as I
carry on as a person, wife and mother. I love how the art
of Cosmic shower has rejuvenated me. I feel and look younger and
increased stamina to enjoy my other hobbies such as gym and
badminton.
Note: Dr Maria
regularly represents the Vet Department in Badminton events in
Sabah and national level. |
